Assistant Professor of Physical Chemistry at DC UNIMI

Expertise  structural chemistry, X-ray diffractometry, quantum-mechanical modelling, chemical bonding real-space analysis.

Research: My research activity deals with solid-state investigations of medium-size drugs and novel inorganic materials (magnetoresistant oxides, TiO2-based catalysts). I am also interested in structural phase transitions, solid-state reaction kinetics and polymorphism. In this context, I mainly employ single-crystal X-ray diffraction under non-ambient conditions (20 K < T < 300 K) and solid-state quantum mechanical simulations with atom-centred linear combination of Gaussian-type functions. I also recently have obtained beamtime to perform X-ray diffraction and EXAFS spectroscopy experiments at international synchrotron radiation facilities (ESRF, Grenoble, France and ELETTRA, Trieste, Italy)
